Essay on Fullfilling My Calling at Coppin State University

Growing up, providing care to the sick has always been a calling and not just a job. I was only 14 when my father was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure and I had to skip school to take care of him. I was all he had at the time, and the care I provided came from within, from the heart. My duty was to help him feel well again, unfortunately he passed away 3 years later and his dead left me seeking for a compassionate and fulfilling purpose. Since then, I have cared for broken men and women in various recovery homes within our Church – Victory Outreach International, home and abroad providing Counseling and health aid to many. It has become vivid after two years of working as a Combat Medic/ Emergency Technician within the Military†¦show more content†¦My immediate goal is to get admitted and become among the top 5% in my class while at a long run, pursuing a master in Nursing will be a dream changer for me. Visiting Coppin State University made it a natural and logical choice for my second degree- undergraduate education. Coppin State University come highly recommended by more than one Health care professionals especially those that I have worked with to include, military company commanders who are Nurses, Physician Assistants and nurses in my civilian Hospital where I work with. They recommended the school’s reputation and professional staff. From all I have seen, what makes Coppin State University stand out is their unswerving interest in prospective students as opposed to other schools where one feels a certain level of distance. After meeting with some of the staff in Coppin State University during my admission process, I feel attached to the College already. I would like to take a brief moment to explain that I graduated with a Bachelor of Science - Life Sciences, Honors in Biochemistry with a minor in Medical Laboratory Technician in South West Cameroon- University of Buea. I arrived the United States and was requested to complete some pre-requisites for nursing which I did making all As except for a single course as a result of my military commitment. I registered a GPA of 3.88 though I believe I could do
